THE STORY BEHIND FROM LYN

Most of the time when people first hear the name From LYN or LYN they usually ask me what it stands for or who it's named after. For the longest time I would joke around and give them a fake acronym or some fake story of how I came up with the name. In reality it does not stand for something and it is not named after some one, it's a place...

Growing up, every summer I would go to a small summer house that has been in my family for over 100 years to spend time with distant relatives and my grandparents. Over the years I spent my time building sketchy forts in the woods and shooting cans with airsoft guns and other random things kids do when they are in the middle of no where New Hampshire. Then things changed as soon as I discovered BMX. I tore down my sketchy tree houses and in their place built sketchy jumps in the middle of a one way dirt road. I rode these ramps day in and day out and started to discover my passion for BMX. Over the next few years I started going to Woodward and then after a couple weeks of camp I found myself in the same place doing the same thing and I loved every minute of it.

Then, towards the end of the summer of 2016 I ended up crashing at Woodward and tearing my ACL. I was devastated, at this point my life revolved around riding, I even designed my college class schedule so I could have 4 day weekends to go ride and travel. Instead I found myself in a leg brace at home counting the 10 months down until I could ride.

During this period I was going stir crazy and I needed something to do, then it hit me, I should start my own clothing brand. From that moment on I had my eyes on the prize and I wasn't going to stop. The only problem was, I had no clue what to name it. This stumped me for a couple days until my girlfriend (now wife) and I got the idea. I should name it after my roots, I should name it where I found the love for the sport that my life revolves around, I'm going to name it after the house that I went to every summer and spent countless hours building ramps out of rotten wood, I'm going to name it From LYN
